Dear Readers, our frequent correspondent Michael, said something that is unfathomably confusing. Describing the Islamic belief, Micheal said that Allah "prays to himself that the man he created doesn't do a bad thing." Wow! I hope that Michael is wrong about this Islamic belief because this is the biggest personification or anthropization of God that I have seen: God praying because He feels out of control! It does not get worse than that!
As a lowly idolatrous Hindu, I waste very little time in fighting about the exact form or formlessness of God. For me the bigger fight (if at all) is between faith and non-faith or between the good and evil. Still, I will invite those who are willing to die and kill for Islamesque stubborn monotheism to examine the Hindu concept of formless and propertyless God. It is bewildering but worth studying! Sometimes I refer to it as the mother of all monotheisms.
