Dear Dr Pipes, Attacking Islam for its ancient absurdities should not be our purpose. So, I decided to check if Islamic preacher Zakir Naik indeed promoted camel urine as a cure. The video posted by DNM was infomercial in nature and in it Dr Naik actually seemed to be selling products made of camel urine. Dr Naik was only in an inset frame. So, the video could be fake. So, I researched further.
Just a few internet searches revealed that YouTube is loaded with Naik's videos supporting the use of the camel urine as a medicine. So, DNM is 100% right.
This absurdity of Islam was news to me. Dr Naik (he is a qualified physician) actually elaborated his position further. He said that for Muslims, Quran and authentic Hadiths are the final words and even science cannot question their validity (https://youtu.be/R62reDeErOs).
I wrote about my biggest objection to this Hadith (5686) on your site yesterday. In
this Hadith Muhammad also ordered the dismemberment and murder of the people who were ordered to drink the camel products. It was because they had turned apostates. Camel fluids are only the minor problems in 5686. Murders for apostasy are the real problem but Islamic scholarship doesn't care about the murders.
In my opinion, Muslims should disregard some Hadiths even if they are fully authenticated.
