Seculars in Turkey

At least in Turkey, secular elements(CHP, MHP) seem to be even more anti-Western than the islamist AKP, while Turkish islamists are indeed more moderate and certainly not nazis, so maybe cooperation with the Turkish AKP is a better option for the West?
