Friendless in the Middle East. We are not seeing Democracy...response to Dr. Pipes.Reader comment on item: Friendless in the Middle East Submitted by Anne (United States), Nov 8, 2011 at 09:28 Free Speech and Democracy does not mean rioting, looting, chaos, burning, and destruction of properties..We see a good example of this so called democracy at Wall Street and Oakland where the rights of the protestors matter more than ordinary citizens trying to go to work and do their jobs or the businesses being adversely affected...( At least some people have jobs which is more than I can say for the others who are protesting....Do something constructive....Join habitat for humanity or volunteer in the soup kitchens in the economy Obama created. We now see the rise of the Arab Spring and Sharia Law that is even more oppressing than the regimes held by Sadam Hussein and Qadaffi, and AlQida's flag flies in Libya. Things in the Middle East and America have went totally in the wrong direction if you are looking for Democracy....Freedom for some, but not for others is anything but Democracy, it is Anarchy.
