It seems that al-Tabari is quoting Arabs that told Muhammad that the word al-rahman is not an Arabic word! What a disasterReader comment on item: Friendless in the Middle East Submitted by dhimmi no more (United States), Jan 17, 2012 at 08:35 Our dear Amin does not seem to know, and why is that our dear Amin, that the words al-rahman al-raheem were indeed a linguistic puzzle and we are told by al-Tabari is his masoritic exegesis of the word al-rahman and I quote . وَقَدْ زَعَمَ بَعْض أَهْل الْغَبَاء أَنَّ الْعَرَب كَانَتْ لَا تَعْرِف الرَّحْمَن وَلَمْ يَكُنْ ذَلِكَ فِي لُغَتهَا Do you know what this means? It means that the pagan Arabs were telling Muhammad that the word al-rahman is not part of their language! Let me guess because it is a loan word from Syriac right? So it seems that Muhammad used a perfect Syriac word and the Arabs that knew their lnaguge did not buy it It seems that those pagans were miles ahead of Allah's rasul when it comes to Arabic These are your islamic sources so what do you plan to do about it? let me guess cast a spell too right? Oh the latest gem from our dear Amin? so what is the root for the words al-mahboob wa al-muhib? Hint it ain't the bogus HBB
