This is likely correct - education/empowerment only makes the moral absolutionist work better and faster towards their already established, sectarian goals. This is testable on more than anecdotal basis, I agree.

But I think with wealth, knowledge and internet the religious-ness is falling dramatically. Also testable, I think.
