Non-PC comments on ability differencesReader comment on item: Friendless in the Middle East Submitted by Turcekonusanamerikali (United States), Dec 9, 2011 at 12:57 I loathe political correctness (PC). To me those who are habitually PC are either hypocritical liars, or fools--usually both. When forced on me, PC is a violation of my First Amendment rights and in the extreme is tyranny. I've gotten into trouble more than once for frankly speaking my mind. The Middle East Forum has abrogated PC, and this one reason why I enjoy it so much. The PC brigade habitually says that genetic differences between human occur only for superficial traits linked to climate and geography. For example, the altitude tolerance of Sherpas, the differing body builds of East Africans, West Africans, Europeans, and Inuites, and so on. I want to make a comment that is not PC. Namely,it is hard for me to believe that certain important abilities differences can be fully accounted for by cultural differences. For example, all top fitness professionals know that people of West African descent like African Americans, put on muscle much more easily than people of European descent. So it is hardly surprising that blacks people excel in many sports--most obviously in sports which require explosive speed. For example, ALL (with maybe one or two exceptions) NFL running backs are black. Another example is that Askenazi Jews are greatly overrepresented in in any pursuit where abstract conceptual think is a premium. For example, 50% of the world's chess grandmasters and 27% of physics Nobelists are Jewish. (The per cent is even higher in theoretical physics) At the risk of being labeled a Nazi the immense PC population, for me it is extremely difficult to believe that no part of these huge ability differences is genetic.
