Reply to RaheelReader comment on item: Salman Rushdie and British Backbone Submitted by Kamal Krazie (Canada), Jun 27, 2007 at 04:58 Assalamu Alaikum Raheel, your statement "However, the majority of muslims have greeted the news with a shrug of the shouder....' this is precisely one of Islam's grand malaise, its perpetually silent majority, dissaffected and non-committed .On issues of blatant abject hatred even a few movers and shakers should'nt be impossible to expect! Islam is a powerful political ideology and rarely has it's tongue stuck in it's pocket concerning issues affecting them in western society, those voices are loud and clear. I propose that at the end of every Friday mosque a politcal statement be proclaimed voiceferously denouncing the atrocity ' du jour ' . imagine the good will this would generate.
