Teaching Enlightenment to SyedReader comment on item: Salman Rushdie and British Backbone Submitted by Singha (India), Jul 8, 2007 at 08:56 <> Intellect led by the light of reason and truth should drive the heart and behavior. It should not follow empty self serving mohummadean assertions. <> << I have a message for Islamist/Arab rulers, they being my brothers in Islam, that they hold hands of women like Taslima Nasreen, Amina Wadud and WAFA SULTAN and help them in getting Justice they are looking for. >> Comment 1: Wafa and her ilk can help calm the agitated islamist souls provided the islamist gets open to the idea of using his/her god given intellect. Comment 2: Your Islamist brothers given half the chance would want to execute Wafa and her ilk. Your request to hold their hands will never even be considered by Islamists who know the quranic ayats which advocate not taking non-muslims for friends and killing of non believers. The true test of enlightenment in a muslim society will be their willingness to allow criticism of quran and mohammad witout fear and with fervor.
