"Whose idea was it?"Reader comment on item: Salman Rushdie and British Backbone Submitted by Lactantius Jr. (European Union), Jun 27, 2007 at 04:58 I wonder whose idea it was to "honour" Rushdie. Much has been written about the offence caused Muslims by "The Satanic Verses," but I see nothing about the lavatory wall language in Rushdie's book, which will be offensive to many non-Muslims too.
