To DEVROCKY: Understanding Saudi ArabiaReader comment on item: Salman Rushdie and British Backbone Submitted by Syed Rafey Husain (Pakistan), Jul 13, 2007 at 08:43 "Look at Saudi Arabia,an ideal Muhammedian country". Dear DEVROCKY, I am not a big fan of concept of states. Look this world from outside, you will see no boundaries and states. Saudi Arabia is a place on this planet we can refer by name. People usually call it Islamic country. I don't. However all Muslims live anywhere in this world are my brothers. If it would be a place where teachings of Islam are followed then A) It should have been ruled by simple people. But we see rich king, prince and princes are ruling. B) It has the greatest amount of resources oil, wealth etc. but all being used using interest based banking system. While interest is Haraam (prohibited) in Islam, Christianity and Judaism. With A) and B) in place, I can point countless unjust attitudes across Saudi Arabia including the brutality, beheadings, enslavement of women, complete ignorance of individual freedoms and human rights. I agree with you on above and wish to see Saudi Arabia a country where justice prevails and people come on this land to learn matters of Justice. My prayers are for my brothers living in Saudi Arabia. My love to you. Syed Rafey Husain.
