The Bible states that Pork is ForbiddenReader comment on item: Salman Rushdie and British Backbone Submitted by Maria (Canada), Apr 26, 2008 at 22:10 God never wanted us to eat pork ....just read his specific instructions in the Bible as to what is permissible. And in this case, as you argue - pork is not to be consumed. Leviticus 11:1-3 Leviticus 11 "And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron, saying unto them, Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, these are the beasts that ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on earth. Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud is among the beasts that shall ye eat." Obviously something that you can't argue - its a clear commandment from God in the Old Testament of the Bible. If you choose to argue this point, you're simply arguing with God and avoiding the clarity of this simple direction to avoid the consumption of pork Submitting....
