To Syed Rafey: Surrender is worse than submissionReader comment on item: Salman Rushdie and British Backbone Submitted by Plato (United Arab Emirates), Jul 21, 2007 at 05:47 Syed Rafey, you wrote: >>Dear Plato, Christianity has the the concept of submission which is equivalent to surrender <<. Read the meaning of the two words. Surrender: 1.to yield (something) to the possession or power of another; deliver up possession of on demand 2. to give up, abandon, or relinquish Submission: 1. to give over or yield to the power or authority of another 2. to defer to another's judgment, opinion, decision In the case of surrender you are giving away possession of yourself, soul, body, possessions, to Allah. You are nothing and you have nothing. You make youself into a piece furniture. In the case of submission you are defering to what you consider is a higher authority. Less drastic than surrender. In any case both surrender and submission are not very pretty things to do on the part of humans and to demand on the part of God.
