One is that the Almighty turns into the Not-So-Almighty if no one caves in to his bullying. You need someone to execute his orders, or the might will not be made a physical reality. If everyone just walked away from dictatorial gods, they'd fade into oblivion. We'd probably be able to build a better society too.
