SPINELESS HYPOCRITESReader comment on item: Salman Rushdie and British Backbone Submitted by K. P. VARAN (Malaysia), Jul 23, 2007 at 09:58 I have made the self same comment earlier on that appeasement is finally going to be the downfall of the West . The West lost the Crusades. Now it is the final Crusade maybe. If the West is dull and dimwitted not to see or understand or comprehend the reality of things - all one can say is that may God have mercy on their souls. Briton tried to appease Hitler. How pleased Hitler was. It gave him all the time to plan and continue with his frolics which cost more than 7,000,000 lives on all sides . I think that we should give President Bush 2 more terms in office to do some further cleaning up. He is the right man at the right time for the job at hand. Appeasement does not work with everyone. Best to be isolated so that you do not contact each other. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
