Glasgow will show some BackboneReader comment on item: Salman Rushdie and British Backbone Submitted by Peter, Scotland (United Kingdom), Jun 30, 2007 at 14:21 Although the information is sketchy at the moment regarding the airport incident, I would doubt the would-be pathetic attackers would have any connection to a terrorist organisation. The persons involved in this will probably be some disaffected ex students again angry at the west for whatever reason and looking for their fifteen minutes of fame. The people of Glasgow will not tolerate this type of behaviour against our city, as what the people have in Glasgow is backbone. This has been demonstrated in the various wars where Scots have lived and died and this inner strength will be no match for person's intent to destroy our way of life. The Scots have been pioneers in everything aspects of modern day living and if we need to show the world on how to destroy this type of fanatical behaviour, we will and unfortunately it probably wont be pretty. Glasgow won't take any of this sitting down and the torch paper of the western world me have just been lit. I have Muslim work colleagues and friends and hope that I am wrong in my thoughts on these latest developments.
