Answer to your question on US FilmReader comment on item: Salman Rushdie and British Backbone Submitted by Maqsood (Oman), Sep 16, 2012 at 10:31 Dear simon, Thank you for referring this question toward me. I will be happy to answer this, if you are trying to understand the whole phenomenon rather than just a debate. Secondly i will request you to be logical and conclusive. Thanks in advance. Now answer to your question: Every society has some rules to live with including the rights of speech and actions. These rules are defined to restrict some people to do something (physical mishandling, murder, monetary frauds and mental tortures, hurting someone etc). Now if someone breaks these rules he is punished. Now punishment again is subjective. Some societies are strict in punishment and some are lean. However no society can live without rules and punishment system. Similarly, there are some rules between the different societies as well. Like interpol police have some international rules, UN rules etc. Now what is happening in this particular case, one man in US is making a film which insults our (muslims) Holy Prophet. And there is no law in US which can restrict such doings and punish the responsible which is against the basic social system. US and all other societies has definely laws where people are punished if they hurt the other people by words or by actions but not in case of Muslims. for example, the discussion on holocaust of jews is not allowed in US and other EU countries, simply because jews will get hurt. On other hand side, Muslims consider our prophet prettier compared to their lives, they will kill anyone who will insult him because this is obligatory for them and this law is imposed by Allah. However matter could be simplified if the govts themselves has taken care of the issue and would have stopped/punished the film maker, but it did not happen. So people dont have any option except to come on roads and protest. yes, i agree that no innocent person should be killed, but it happens all over the world, when a mob becomes uncontrolled any one can get killed accidently. So pls educate the western people, that dont do such doings, which hurt 1 biilion muslims. Freedom of one should be limited to the point, where someone else life is affected especially religious matters. Hope i clarified your question. Regards Maqsood
