freedom is never freeReader comment on item: Salman Rushdie and British Backbone Submitted by Phil Greend (Canada), Jul 1, 2007 at 02:20 There is a cost in order for all of us to have freedom. It is paid in many hard ways. In blood , by soldiers who die fighting dictators and oppressors. In courage , by authors who stand up to people who would murder them for words they wrote. In keeping faith with those who have given so much. In standing up to bad people by all of us in the future , even if it is dangerous to our very lives or our livelihood. Freedom is never free.
