What to do about the problem?Reader comment on item: Still Asleep After Mumbai Submitted by hyman peskin (Canada), Dec 10, 2008 at 07:20 It is one thing to identify and decry the problem of Islamic terrorism and another to prescribe effective measures to counter it. The wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and the period bombings of sites in Pakistan have done more to exacerbate rather then providing a solution to this ever growing menace. The inability to have some equitable resolution of the Israelis-Palestinian conflict is an aggravating factor, We all know the problem. What is the solution? Waging open ended wars on a people and a religion numbering well over one billion is definitely not the answer. Perhaps the new Obama administration can be more effective than the the previous one. We live in hope. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
