But, "Keith", those of Islam are the ones we are to persevere against ...Reader comment on item: Still Asleep After Mumbai Submitted by kman (United States), Jan 11, 2009 at 20:39 What are the continuing and ongoing witness of the true nature of Islam? You have been on this forum for a long time. Do you read any of the responses that detail the mammoth and staggering numer of atrocious acts committed in the name of Islam? That is the true, real, and outfront image of Islam. Intimidation reigns, not truth, love, and charity. If a thousand Muslims exist on earth and 995 of them do terrible things, what is the truth of Islam? The Quran is a book of conenience that has a solution for everyone who wans a god that allows them to do whatever they want. If the peaceful approach doesn't work, well, then there is another part of the Quran that will speak to your need to express your rage and hate. Jesus Christ offers no such solution. We are to help our enemy see the peaceful route to finding God and his promised paradise. There is no provision for be-heading, torture, rape, or anyother act of evil. I can post hundreds of contemporary "acts" carried out by those who follow Jesus Christ. International Christian Concern, Life outreach International, Voice of the Martyrs, Mission India, Mission Without Borders, Samaritan's Purse, and dozens of other Christian organiztions help tens of millions of people through not only preaching their God, but through practical application of what Jesus preaches. God's true people reach out to hundreds of millions of people peacefully through teaching them how to read in their own language, food, clothing, shelter, starting small businesses, and prayer. Never do you see pictures or news stories of violence on the part of or for God. I don't say that there aren't isolated and microscopic exceptions. God will take care of those who don't follow him in the wrong way. The point is, the large majority of Islamic acts do no good whatsoever. Why does the entire planet hear nothing but atrocities committed by Muslims. Why don't we hear from the "peaceful" ones after every atrocious act of Islam? A few live quietly until the radicals hit their area and then follow along like a bunch of sheep with,"Well what can we say? Allah has spoken!" and then do everyting they can to aid the militants. It's is a religion that is very convenient for anyone that wants to be conveniently "peaceful" until the militants show up. Meanwhile we hear nothing from the peaceful ones that in any way pushes the so-called peacefulness of Islam. They sit like stumps taking adantage of everything their society/nation offers until the militants come along. "Stump" religion when it calls for it and then when the call changes, which it inevitably does, then it's cutting throats, beatings, rape, and torture. "Ah, what can we do? Allah has spoken". How convenient. What have you been doing to advance the "peaceful" agenda of Islam before hand? Nothing. You squat and wait amongst yourselves until the militants come along. "Charity" is something religiously adhered to by the followers of Jesus Christ. Charity is money, time spent, and effort made. But then, if you only have your nose buried in a Quran, you will never know until that final day.
