Checked Again - The Truth is Still Contained in the WORD of the LORD, the Holy Bible as Revealed by Jesus ChristReader comment on item: Still Asleep After Mumbai Submitted by M. Tovey (United States), Jan 2, 2009 at 18:32 This reader is concerned by the previous post, and in such a state of mind, this second answer comes after some further deliberation. At the outset, it is still perplexing from a human point of logic, that except for a vain search for spiritual contradictions that do not exist in the mind of the LORD who is the author of the Holy Bible, a person's continued search of such things will eventually lead to the truth, if the person will open his/her heart to Jesus Christ. Once again, we see in the previous post a verse taken out of context, and for the sake of trying to prove a humanist logical position, its meaning is perverted for unbelief. The uncanny part (only for those who do not recognize the signs of these times) is that the verse has contemporary meaning for what is happening in Israel at this moment. As mentioned so many times before, most (if not all) scripture directed to Israel (as this one is) has a near term and far term fulfillment. Near term, for in the time it was originally written, the LORD was ready to have the Jewish population dispersed to Babylonia for their faithlessness. Far term, for in its present day execution, we see Israel besieged by her enemies ‘round-about' and the LORD ready to execute His judgment on an unbelieving world. The ‘Book' (scroll) is that which is already written by the Prophet Isaiah, but its meaning at the time of delivery is obscured for the unbelief for both the learned and unlearned people of that time. It was finally understood by those people when Nebuchadnezzar finally came and sacked Jerusalem and took the Hebrews away to Babylonia. The same thing is happening today, that for unbelief in who Jesus Christ is and what He is about to do in Israel is obscured; unbelieving people cannot take the scripture of say, this prophet Isaiah, and understand what the LORD is saying through him. To repeat, in order to understand the Holy Bible, it must be read through the power of the Holy Spirit, or it will not make sense to those who have no faith in Jesus Christ.
