no excuse for terrorReader comment on item: Still Asleep After Mumbai Submitted by Keith Williams (United States), Dec 13, 2008 at 19:58 In Islam, acts of terror are forbidden. The Qur'an says: "When they are told, do not cause corruption on the earth, they say, we are only putting things right. No indeed! They are the corrupters, but they are not aware of it. (2:11-12) These terrorist have a very distorted and corrupted interpretation of Islam and have deviated greatly. Their criminal acts is a result of a lack of a true understanding of their religion rather than from the religion they claim to espouse. We have to fight against this corruption in Islam from within and without with wisdom and fair admonition in the kindest way but if they commit terror then from without and within we must bring them to justice. "Call to the way of your Lord with wisdom and fair admonition, and argue with them in the kindest way. Your Lord knows best who is misguided from His way. And he knows best who are guided." (16:125) These terrorist committed a very evil act and they will pay for what they have done. The killing of innocent people does not perpetrate nothing but terror. We must fight against those who commit these kind of terrorist acts and fight ideologically against their evil ideology. These terrorist may think that they represented Islam but they do not. They were misguided by Satan the rejected one. They put a black eye on the face of Islam which is a very beautiful and peaceful way of life. They want to incite the world to go against Islam as well as rally all Muslims to their cause. We have to respond to every terrorist act committed by these criminals but our response must be swift and just. If we do nothing then we play into their hands by allowing them to continue. If we do too much and over react then we play into their hands by rallying more recruits to their side. If we bring the leaders of these terrorist to justice then we bring their plan to nothing. These terrorist are criminals and should be looked at as criminals and should be shunned by all and brought to justice. There is no excuse for terror. None. peace
