wordplay: the last resort of disbeliefReader comment on item: Still Asleep After Mumbai Submitted by bayezid (Bangladesh), Dec 21, 2008 at 07:17 Muhammad peace be upon him was simply using similes and metaphors to explain the earths position and the forces acting on it to a 7th century ignorant arab. an arab who would not understand the centripetal and centrifugal forcces on the earth. gravity. electromagnetism. what he prophet did was simply explain things in 7th century laymans terms. lets hear what the book of ALLAH, as preached by muhammad peace be upon him says about the earth, shall we ? "And Allah has made the earth for you as a carpet (spread out)." [Al-Quran 71:19] under the crust is the mantle and the magma. would you like to stand on that or on grass and earth? thats why its like a carpet. for your convenience. thank GOD. "And We have spread out the (spacious) earth: how excellently We do spread out!" [Al-Quran 51:48] "And we have made the earth egg shaped". [Al-Quran 79:30] im sorry to foil your attempt but you have simply used an uncommon info from the sources. while leaving out what ALLAH says HIMSELF. and as for similes and metaphors, we all know why they are similies and metaphors. please consult a grammar book if in confusion.
