I agree that nothing short of another 9/11 (quadrupled, many times) will shake us from our stupor - and, I would add, cowardice - of replacing spades with solecism. Speaking of "nomenclature", Obama yet again reveals his apptitude for ambiguity in stating he will use his full name, Barack Hussein Obama, at his inauguration, because - "I think the tradition is that they use all three names, and I will follow that tradition." http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5jD21l6_6BCxtB-4NYjUyT5jwotXw "Tradition"? What tradition? Jimmy Carter used...Jimmy Carter. Ronald Regan used...Ronald Regan. Obama states his choice to include "Hussein" makes no statement one way or another. What a fool. Here's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Barack H. (hint) Obama - and our nation (the whole world will be watching) - to send a huge message to Islamists. What if, during WWII, a similar circumstance had presented itself? "I, Frankilin Adolf Roosevelt, do solemly swear..."
