Christian rudeness and blatant misuse of secularismReader comment on item: Still Asleep After Mumbai Submitted by Jairam (India), Feb 13, 2009 at 07:21 Firstly, from your comments it's quite clear that you are not familiar with the Indian situation. Christians distribute hateful literature about Hinduism amongst people to gain converts. It is not as innocent as you put it that they are targeted for distributing rice. You only need to look at the chick publications that the christians are distributing. Such manufactured lies that are designed to create violence between people. A group of people who were previously coexisting with their fellow countrymen after conversion go and ridicule Hindu Gods. Moreover the christian communities in India work with the Islamists. The "secular" parties in India are falling over each other to appease christians and muslims whether it is a Haj subsidy or a subsidy to christians for visiting Jerusalem. There is also reservations based on religion and not economic criteria. Secularism in India is being used to christianise and Islamise India. I'm not justifying violence but what else do you expect in this situation. Hindus feel cornered from everywhere by the voracious appetite for souls that christianity and Islam have. In all of Independent India's history there has not been any religious symbols on Indian currency and Hindus have never demanded it but the Roman catholic Italian leader of the ruling "secular" party issued a christian cross on Indian currency. How do you think Hindus feel. Christians target Hindus for conversion exactly because they are peaceful. They don't dare to convert any Indian muslims because they know will have no success with them. For once put aside your bigotted behaviour and stop blaming the victims. Christianity and Islam are the agressors. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please.
