Political correctnessReader comment on item: Still Asleep After Mumbai Submitted by logical thinker (United Kingdom), Jan 4, 2009 at 07:40 While Mumbai attacks have shaken the civilized world for its brutality, I'm not amazed at just the lip-service and in-action. India has been speaking to the world, giving evidences that Pakistan was a terrorist nation, since mid 1980. But the world was never united on terrorism until 9/11. Nations thought that terrorism is local to certain countries and will not impact West. With Soviet invasion of Afghanistan 1979, secret services of USA and Pakistan trained mujahideen to fight against Soviets. Some proud movies were also made to show Afghans as heroes, Rambo III. What USA's intelligence agencies did not realize that Pakistan had used this knowledge & network of covert warfare and trained terrorist to wage war against India. First it was Punjab and then Kashmir. India kept hoping for support from World of its plight in fighting this disease. Later when the graduates from terrorist training camps of Afghan and Pakistan struck western targets on 9/11, the world wakes up to Islamic terrorism. The mistakes of past are repeated when Dubya appoints Pakistan as ally in war of terrorism. After 7 years, USA admits that Pakistan has not done anything to curb terrorism at its soils. ISI gives a warning to militants before USA's missiles reach them. US $ 20 billion provided as aid by US to Pakistan to fight terrorism has ended in Pakistani politicians' personal bank accounts or was used to amass military hardware against India. I wish India was like Israel. 4 Israelis have died and Israel bombs retaliates with supreme force. I don't want India to be agrressor but if were are attacked we have a right of self-defense.
