moral in a gistReader comment on item: Still Asleep After Mumbai Submitted by bayezid (Bangladesh), Dec 24, 2008 at 08:46 i did not avoid any issues from being discussed. if i may have missed out anything by mistake then please remind me of it specifically so i can explain that. and just what is bliss if we cant experience all the creations of GOD? rightfully and in due time of course.no, there is nothing lowly about enjoying sensul pleasaures provided you do it with total submission to ALLAH. and that state is possible only in paradise. and what do the time tested methods of so called other religions practice as bliss? thinking that one can be ok without food drink or sex eternally? GOD gives bliss and we dont attain it just by wishing it. GOD set rules for us here and locked us in a state where we are weak to these things. denying the food sex nd drink is denying GOD's creation. islam deals with facts. GOD ordes us to abstain from the wrongful way of drink sex and food to the best of our abilities and not indefinitely. its not to say that bliss wont let us experience these things in the next life. what is bliss i earlier belief systems all talk of one fundamental thing just as islam does. oneness of god. oneness of ALLAH alone. worship of ALLAH alone and that HE has no partners or rivals. this is the gist. islam underlines the same thing in the best way. and as for union with god, it is not like this that we are not close to god now. islam helps us realize the closeness of GOD and the word is taqwa. ALLAH HIMSELF says that HE is closer to us than our own jugular veins. so it is simply a question of realizing that. and not actually making some imaginary gap close up between god and men. we are close to GOD now and always ut we have to realize it. thats what islam helps us do. because only when we submit to HIS will HE will make us feel the closeness. and if you are saying that previous messaes did not include information on paradise then you are mistaken. paradise is given by GOD to believers and it is mentioned in the torah, the zabur, the bible and quran. also in the persian zend avesta theres mention of paradise. in vedas pradise is mentioned as swarg. who deems that sensual pleasures are bad for us? GOD does. so it is GOD's will that HE deems it good for us in the afterlife. itsn ot like those things are good or bad in themselves. and ALLAH never said pradise has to do with only women, men, food and honey. those are just a glimpse of the pleasurable things that GOD will give to mankind because they abstained from it fearing HIM in this life. very simple. in a surah in the al quran ALLAH says that tuly in the remembrance of GOD do mens hearts find rest. ALLAH knows this and thats why HE tells us this. islams contribution means GOD's contribution to people. so in the form of the quran and the sunnah ALLAH has forever etched in writing the eternal laws that bring out the best nature in man. monotheism, justice, equality of people, love between people of different races and climes, good business, good society and just administration. no one can change these words unlike those of the books written by people or anybody else. people will be compelled to follow them at one point or the other even if they strayed and it gurantees their safe passae in the afterlife. thats the contribution. a priceless contribution and relevant to us at the same time. with islam, there is an obligation to be good regardless of self interest or profit. its obligation comes from fearing the maker and creator. such an influence is undeniable on people. when GOD tells us to do things rather than human beings then that ask has a purpose. carring it out is fulfilling the purpose. the world is a better place now. the countruies beofre accepting islam were caught in the worst practices known to mankind. so i dont think you really know what bad means since you havent lived in those times. but you have books. read about the lives of people back then. youll know. if people are unhappy its their fault. ALLAH gave them all they need. if they dont make an effort, islam is not to be blamed for our shortcomings. so ALLAH reminds us that we are sinners, meaning we must take responsibility than just assign blame on religion, god, or other people. yeah we do eat cumin seeds. it does us good. why , is there a law against that in secular countries too? see what i mean? you arent happy cuz ALLAH said pork is bad. so HE is doing you a favour and here u are complaining. and you seek happiness? wont happen, im afraid. Muhammad peace be upon him is unlettered. he could not even properly sign his own name. and people that time knew him as the truthful. He simply bore the weight of the revelation that came from ALLAH via angel gibreel .
