delta of the GangesReader comment on item: Still Asleep After Mumbai Submitted by the Grand Infidel of Kaffiristan (Australia), Dec 28, 2008 at 06:29 Plato writes: "I think you missed out the fact that before Islam came to Bangladesh, it was a vast empty delta of the Ganges! Muslims are loathe to admit that they had very enlightened idol worshipping pagans as their ancestors." I knew there was a former East Pakistan which had changed its name to Bangladesh. I know nothing of its history other than it is a predominantly Muslim country..I just checked on the Net and amongst other things - surprise, surprise, it is not the muslim paradise which some might have us believe: "However, Bangladesh continues to face a number of major challenges, including widespread political and bureaucratic corruption, and discrimination against women and religious and ethnic minorities." "And thank your for your Martin Luther King quote. I am going to use it extensively when replying to some commentators on this blog." Men of insight such as King have always picked the truths of their times. The sincere ignorance hasn't abated since then. We should heed their wisdom.
