Lets not attack a particular religionReader comment on item: Still Asleep After Mumbai Submitted by AK (India), Dec 31, 2008 at 13:44 Kman..I agree with you that in the recent past there have been attacks on Christians in India by Hindus and some of the incidents that took place are regrettable and condemnable....but these were done by certain fundamental groups that form a minority of Hindus....Hinduism teaches tolerance and respect to all other religions and the fact that India stands united inspite of its diversity whether in religion, langauages, etc should support my statement... However I would also like to mention a few things that are going wrong in this issue....Poverty in India is even today a serious social issue...Now if this is exploited by a particular religion then that needs to be deplored and prevented....to offer material wealth to an individual or family to convert to Christianity, which is happening rampantly in rural areas is a wrong practice....if you want people to convert then propogate ideas of the particular religion and if people appreciate that line of thought then they can voluntarily take up that religion...but to dangle a carrot to convert people is not acceptable and should be avoided...of course the path taken by the fundamentalist groups was wrong.
