ALLAH IS SHIFTING LOYALTIES.Reader comment on item: Still Asleep After Mumbai Submitted by raja believer (India), Dec 14, 2008 at 13:20 From your write up it appears you have a narrow view of your own faith and like others of your creed you think Hinduism is all about idolatry. First Hinduism is not a religion, it is just a way of life followed by ancient sages. It is very vast and not dependent on a single book. It also encompasses, and has place for, all other faiths including Christianity, Islam, Buddism, Jainism, Sikhism etc. etc. It has different branches and ways of worship classified as Bhakti Yoga (Simple Devotion to God of your choice, it can even be Allah or Jesus), Karma Yoga (Action without desire for the fruit), Jnana Yoga (Acquiring Knowledge of the Supreme, it can include reading the Bible and Quran also) & Raja Yoga ( Knowledge of the Self), Hatha Yoga, (with different physical postures, breathing techniques and meditation). All these again are further classified. As this way of life is not aggressively propagated, most people think it is all about stone worshipping. If that was so, Hinduism would not have survived for ages. Different people follow different paths. Yes Islam never made mockery of Hindus but for about 700 years marauded them, plundered their temples, used the loot to build mosques elsewhere and laid a strong foundation to modern day islamic terrorism. But if one mosque with a lot of controversy falls it becomes a global issue & Hindus are equalled to terrorists. Who told you that women burnt themselves on their husbands' pyres? History, right? But the same history also states that they used to do that fearing kidnap, rape and torture by Muslim invaders, who practiced these evils like religion. The problem is racially Hindus or if you may allow me to call them Indians just are incapable of fighting Muslims, for a variety of reasons including lack of unity due to diverse and wide variety of cultures and languages, relative liberal thinking etc. Muslims & other Non Hindus in India hold very high positions in pulic life including Presidents, in judiciary, Police, Armed Forces, Films, industry and in every area one can percieve. Because the idea of India, though not as matured a democracy as the US or the UK, with diverse faiths is truly secular and has place for all. No surprise one day a Muslim may become the Prime Minister. It's no big deal. In many inter religious marriages each one freely pactice their own faith. When such an assorted variety live under the same umbrella differences and clashes are bound to be there, now & then. Where do you find such a culture in the entire world. But which muslim country has this kind of tolerance and respect for other faiths. Can anyone build a temple or Church in Saudi or any in Islamic nation. Even the ancient ones that exist are at the risk of being bulldozed. But wherever Muslims go they demand all previleges there, build msoques, want a separate law for themselves and so on...
