Islamic Reforms- need of the dayReader comment on item: Still Asleep After Mumbai Submitted by raja believer (India), Dec 27, 2008 at 05:22 No religion is perfect or suited to all times my friend, though God is believed to be one & changeless principle behind this creation. Just as political, economic, land and other reforms take place over years, religions also should be subjected to scrutiny and revamped to suit different times. All other faiths have evolved and adjusted according to modern times, but Islam remained where it was -- in the 7th century--- Islamists still want to follow the life and practices of those times and what more, argue that the Arabian way of life of those days is perfectly suited for the present times. You think that Allah has stopped his "WILL" in the 7th century itself. Also no one was ever allowed to point a finger at the writings of Quran. It will be in the good of all, especially Moslems themselves, if the verses of Violence & Terror are expunged for two simple reasons. Poverty, terminal diseases, broken familial ties etc. are economic, medical & socialogical problems and have nothing to do with religious beliefs. Even Allah or God has no sway over these issues. All moslems want to land up in the US, become its citizens, but carp & cavil about the multi cultural life there, why these double standards.
