reply to what is wrong with idol worship

Hi Plato,

Hasn't God commanded so many times in his revelations to not worship idols and to worship him alone and only him? Why do we keep falling into the same pattern of disobedience I don't know? It should be enough that God the almighty himself said not too. For example, shall we look at all of the civilizations throughout history who disobeyed that command? Where are they now? They are all destroyed and are dust. If we can't see the signs or disregard them then we are destined to follow into the same self-destruction as our predecessors did and like it is said, "History always seems to repeat itself."
