It has been observed elsewhere that it took less than a week for the President of the United States to make his intentions, and his subliminal desires, known as he opens his dialogue with the Arab and Muslim world. Repeating what has been published in other forums, he laces his comments with the already open fact that his family is Muslim (and when one reads his own words, he has not completely dispensed with his familial attachments), whereby he proposes to engage that part of the world with a new respect never before accorded by a sitting American president. This brings up the circumstance that there is either an ignorance of history in America's dealing with the Muslim world like Thomas Jefferson and others did along the north African coast and other places, or there is the idea that because of the familial connection, a crossover approach to associate by identification is the intent. Either way, it requires compromise with an enemy mentality against the United States and similar allies, most notable one being Israel.
In the interview with al-Arabiya television, Israel is named as an ally of the United States, yet there remains the idea that Israel must still make the ultimate sacrifice in order to gain some semblance of peace. Still on the table is the president's contenion that a ‘contiguous' ‘Palestinian' state is still the way to obtain that sort of peace. What is being talked around is the fact that the enemy of Israel will not cease until they have all of the land under Muslim rule.
This reader maintains those who have understanding know that the truth of Israel's existence in perpetuity is not determined by human logic. It is then plain to see that the world's attempt to obtain peace at Israel's expense will never come to fruition. Instead, we can count on the situation being resolved in Israel's favor. Unfortunately, Israel will endure some of the world's greatest inhumanities against any particular society in order to complete the will of her Eternal Sovereign; ultimately Israel will come through the trials set before her in triumph, and her relationship with the Holy One of Israel will be set forever.
Unfortunately for the United States of America, in his overture to the Muslim world, the President of the United States fails to observe and neglects to act on that inevitability.
The comments of the Saudi prince in actuality are a threat, not veiled, but openly set in defiance and diffidence to the actual need for the peace in the area. In the same vein as the mentality of all enemies of Israel, there is the subliminal and overt references that make plain this fact: not one of those in the same mindset as the charter of Hamas dedicated to the destruction of Israel is willing to concede peace with Israel remaining in the land. His tone of compromise is given under the color of hudna (false peace); that eventually he along with all the others in concert with the idea of the removal of Israel for the sake of a Muslim peace will only negotiate to that specific end. All the other options present obstacles to that ultimate Islamic goal. See the contrast and realize that he cannot propose peace since he does not believe in it with Israel still being in the picture.
When, it is asked, will anybody with authority understand those facts and act appropriately? It is, alas, a rhetorical question; since for America, it seems an unlikely proposition according to the comments of the current American president. Israel must seek her Eternal Sovereign to overcome all comers seeking her demise, whether tacit, real, or in neglect of the eternal promise to her for the land.
