Turki is to be praised for showing Saudi Arabia's true colors. After 9/11, the Saudis promised NYC so much aid provided they would vilify the JOOOZ; now he thinks the time is ripe to press for a realignment in American policy again. He believes that Obama's election shows that the USA is ready to fold, even to the point of joining the anti-Semitic bloc, and he is urging us to do so rapidly. I sincerely suspect that when he speaks Arabic, Turki probably sees the 9/11 hijackers as the flower of his nation's and religion's manhood.
Significantly, when Bush had troops in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia was so quick to paint itself as a fellow victim of al-Qaeda aggression, and hoped we would conveniently forget their initial approach to Mayor Giuliani. Now, they let the whole world know openly that they love nothing more than more bloodletting and hope that the USA will bless it.
Saudi Arabia is not to be trusted until it declares the Covenant of 'Umar so null and void that the lowliest Filipino guest worker is allowed to cross himself before taking lunch in the heart of Mecca itself without fear of retaliation. I also hope that the Obama administration will have the decency to forbid all visas to Saudi nationals until that day comes.
