The Hadith, Sahih Muslim, also demands muslims not only to recite Qur'an in prayer, but also to use it for learning. The following is the extract:
Chapter 132: EXCELLENCE OF THE RECITATION OF THE quran IN PRAYER AND THAT OF ITS LEARNING (Book Sahih Muslim, #Book, Hadith #Chapter)
The following are the extracts from the book of Sahih Bukhari for your reference:
Narrated 'Ubada bin As-Samit: who took part in the battle of Badr and was a Naqib (a person heading a group of six persons), on the night of Al-'Aqaba pledge: Allah's Apostle said while a group of his companions were around him, "Swear allegiance to me for: 1. NOT TO JOIN ANYTHING IN WORSHIP ALONG WITH ALLAH. 2. NOT TO STEAL. 3. NOT TO COMMIT ILLEGAL SEXUAL INTERCOURSE. 4. NOT TO KILL YOUR CHILDREN. 5. NOT TO ACCUSE AN INNOCENT PERSON (to spread such an accusation among people). 6. NOT TO BE DISOBEDIENT (when ordered) TO DO GOOD DEED." The Prophet added: "Whoever among you fulfills his pledge will be rewarded by Allah. And whoever indulges in any one of them (except the ascription of partners to Allah) and gets the punishment in this world, that punishment will be an expiation for that sin. And if one indulges in any of them, and Allah conceals his sin, it is up to Him to forgive or punish him (in the Hereafter)." 'Ubada bin As-Samit added: "So we swore allegiance for these." (points to Allah's Apostle) (Sahih Bukhari, Book #2, Hadith #17)
Take note that the aboce extract does not restrict our acts only to muslims and it should include our relationship with other races.
It is mentioned above that muslims must not join anything to worship with Allah. As the word, anything, is used instead of anybody or any person, it refers to any objects, such as, idols, Buddha, or whatever substance, to be used to worship Allah. Or in other words, Hadith forbids muslims to use idols to be used in joining to worship Allah. Or in other words, there should not be any idols in the mosque so as to join muslims in worshipping Allah.
Second, Hadith demands muslims not to steal. As nothing is mentioned whether it is meant for stealing from non-muslims, Allah forbids all kinds of stealing.
Third, Hadith demands us not to commit illegal sexual inter-course. It certainly discourages muslims to have sexual relationship with women especially they are not lawfully married. Some might argue that the word, prostitutes, is mentioned here and there in Hadith, Certainly! Hadith does not condemn prostitutes to be practise among muslims. However, it does not promote prostitutes among muslims. Remember, Hadith mentions that not to commit illegal sexual intercourse. As the word, illegal, is mentioned in Hadith, it demands that only intercourse must be legalised and accepted. In order to be legalized, there must be some kind of lawfully marriages.
Not only Hadith does not promote prostitutes among muslims, Qur'an also discourages it since it demands muslims to have one to four wives on the condition if they are lawfully married.
Quran only allows Muslims to have one to four wives only if marriages are legalized. Or in other words, the marriages have been done lawfully
Al-Hijr #15:71, "[Lut (Lot)] said: "These (the girls of the nation) are my daughters (TO MARRY LAWFULLY), if you must act (so)."
Hud #11: #78, "And his people came rushing towards him, and since aforetime they used to commit crimes (sodomy), he said: "O my people! Here are my daughters (i.e. the women of the nation), THEY ARE PURER FOR YOU (IF YOU MARRY THEM LAWFULLY). So fear Allah and degrace me not with regard to my guests! Is there not among you a single right-minded man?"
Hadith does not promote prositutes. However it is mentioned that Allah would accept prostitutes on the condition that these prostitutes have done good deeds as mentioned below:
Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "While a dog was going round a well and was about to die of thirst, an Israeli prostitute saw it and took off her shoe and watered it. So Allah forgave her because of that good deed." (Sahih Bukhari, Book #56, Hadith #673)
So, when Qur'an and Hadith mention about prostitutes, do not be mistaken that they promote prostitutes. Allah only accepts them only if they do good deeds.
Fourth, Hadith demands muslims not to kill children. It certainly demands muslims not to kill their children once their infants are delivered out to this world. It also certainly demands muslims not to have abortion.
Fifth, Hadith demands muslims not to accuse innocent person.
Sixth, Hadith demands muslims not to disobedient to good deeds. Or in other words, Hadith demands muslims to do good deeds and that is in accordance to the book of Qur'an.
The consequence of avoiding good deed as mentioned in Sahih Bukhari:Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said, "A MAN WHO NEVER DID ANY GOOD DEED, said that if he died, his family should burn him and throw half the ashes of his burnt body in the earth and the other half in the sea, for by Allah, if Allah should get hold of him, HE WOULD INFLICT SUCH PUNISHMENT ON HIM as He would not inflict on anybody among the people. But Allah ordered the sea to collect what was in it (of his ashes) and similarly ordered the earth to collect what was in it (of his ashes). Then Allah said (to the recreated man ), 'Why did you do so?' The man replied, 'For being afraid of You, and You know it (very well).' So Allah forgave him." (Sahih Bukhari, Book #93, Hadith #597)
Some might argue that Qur'an and Hadith do mention about fighting and seems to promote evil deeds. However, Hadith does not mention what should muslims do if non-muslims cease to fight with muslims. As Hadith only mentions about fighting and it does not mention whether non-muslims are the first to stir up the problem, it is irrational to jump into the conclusion that Hadith is bad. Qur'an provides a way out that Allah would not want us to continue in fighting when they cease to fight with us. Qur'an mentions the fighting spirit on the defensive role. As nothing is mentioned in Hadith whether the fighting that is mentioned in Hadith is in defensive role and yet Hadith demands muslims to obey Qur'an, it implies that the fighting as mentioned in Hadith should be meant for defensive role too in accordance to Qur'an since Hadith demands muslims to obey Qur'an.
