Intolerance; what an incomprehensible word for some. Your title sentence is about the only phrase in which the two words can be associated and not breach the sensibilities of common decent respect one for another. As implicated by the title of this observation, the Torah is the true initial source of love (Deu 6:5). Yet the world treats this as antithetical to living life in freedom; that as the song goes: What's love got to do with it? Is this not the source of the world's conundrum leading to its confusion and division?
In the more modern context, Yeshua speaks the mind of the Eternal Sovereign Father: "for God (the Father) so loved the world that He gave His only 'begotten' Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Now, does this sound intolerant?
Some will say it is. But note the tone: whosoever allows for choice; and as we said, if as it is written, while it is inflexible, it still requires acceptance of Yeshua in belief. But choosing the door/portal of rejection is on the receiver in taking a pass at the love of God.
Therein lays the basis, the root, of belief in Yeshua - the love of God. Believing in this brings salvation; Only human intolerance rejects the love of God - that is the choice.
