To follow up the discussion and dissertations of earlier posts from years ago to until today, this issue of one versus the trinity has been a serious point of contention for a variety of reasons, not the least of which, how does the Messiah, who stated oneness with 'Abba, the Father, really make that claim?
As can be seen in the initial interrogative between the adherents of the Messiah of the Hebrew Holy Writ and the adherents of the Quranic authors and their descendant following, this issue of identifying their respective deities and the characteristic 'oneness' has been exacerbated by the later arguments during the years after the crucifixion and resurrection of Yeshua, Issa, the Anointed One of Israel.
In the Hebrew Holy Writ, the One True God is described in the plural, Elohim. Yet, the affirmation is that which is spoken of in the Sh'ma; hear O Israel, the LORD our God is One. In concert with this, all throughout the Hebrew Holy Writings, there are several characteristics that speak to His Omniscience and Omnipotence and provisions for His children; and when one considers His visit with two others to Abram when promising the son, Isaac, what presence was represented when in that personal meeting?
What may be promulgated here is that there is nothing left out to the Spiritual omnipotence or defining essence of the Almighty Sovereign; He can take on whatever from or shape necessary He had determined from eternity to present Himself to humanity, such as to the first man, Adam, as told of in the Torah. Who was Moshe visited by on Mt Sinai? Anyone?
When this was being debated in the first century church (and the initial religious agnostics that fought against the Messiah prior to the destruction of the Temple for the cause of unbelief), there were many skeptics trying to defeat the following of the resurrected Rabbi of Nazareth, but could not for the many that had believed for the miracles of His witness, the circumstances of which changed by the third century.
Yet throughout the subsequent ages, the 'triune' essence of the Father, Son, Holy Spirit became the focal point of debate since the inadequate abilities of a floundering replacement belief system could hardly describe that which many found hard to discern for the lack of trust in the truth. Thus, the true essence of a triune Being was reduced to a discussion of a trinity (three persons in one) without belief. It is error.
Ultimately, the truth of the Triune essence of the Eternal Sovereign of Israel, as well as the entirety of creation, will be further revealed in the continuation of this modern age and in a way that neither the 'trinitarian' nor the argumentative version of a single deity will be prepared for, since neither group of adherents are prepared to recognize that the true Deity governing Israel is Who He says He is.
