The following are the different translations for the proves that Allah has a high preference on preaching and he does not delegate us, muslims, responsibility to slaughter:
Quran 64:12 (Yusuf Ali), "So obey Allah, and obey His Messenger. but if ye turn back, the duty of Our Messenger is but to proclaim (the Message) clearly and openly. "
Quran 64:12 (Shakir), "And obey Allah and obey the Messenger, but if you turn back, then upon Our Messenger devolves only the clear delivery (of the message). "
Quran 64:12 (Pickthal), "Obey Allah and obey His messenger; but if ye turn away, then the duty of Our messenger is only to convey (the message) plainly."
Quran 64:12 (Mohsin Khan), "Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم); but if you turn away, then the duty of Our Messenger is only to convey (the Message) clearly."
As the word, only, in Quran 64:12 is mentioned with the phrase, convey (the Message) clearly, it implies that Allah has a high preference on preaching instead of fighting, vandalism, and etc.
