Dear Dhimmi No More,
How much I learn from every of your posts! The voice of the reason and the wisdom. Dr Pipes is very lucky to count on such an expertised and smart reader who adds so many good remarks on properly translating the Qur'an.
You said to the poster:
Oh لخبطة ? May be you can ask your Mullah to translate it for you if he knows Arabic
Precisely, we were debating here recently that Islam is taught more often than not, by non-Arabic speakers. What a disaster!
After those revealing posts of yours on the comments of another article, I started finding verses whose translations are confusing. It's impossible that a non-Arabic speaker can have an idea of how misleading the Qur'an is. Starting from the non rigorous translations to the ambiguous message. Leave aside the invitation to violence and the condemnation of kuffars. Definitely, the linguistic issue is a very fascinating topic.
Whenever I asked about my doubts to this narcissist wishy-washy Muslim who pretended to be the most righteous servant of Allah he used to refer me to YouTube scholars (I'm sorry to say, but for me, their very aggressive discourse just gave me the proofs I needed to realise that fear is all they have to instil the faith in Muslims) because only they have the proper knowledge about Islam. So I should show utmost respect towards them since they've spent all their lives studying for enlightening all of us and lead us to the right path... Right!
This means that Muslims believe blindly what these scholars are saying, in case they have any doubt or whenever they feel they need to reassure their faith because they need reminders to not step out their rigid rules. They're not taught to investigate on their own and develop their logical skills, their free-thinking abilities to solve problems in life. This also stems from their very pessimistic conception of life. Mufti Menk and Yasmin Mogahed are their best guidance and new Islamic gurus. What an irony! Well, all of this just to say that all the answers I needed were placed in the knowledge of these Islamic eminent figures. Great.
Thank goodness that for me it wasn't enough.
Thank you for your great posts and for taking the time to come here and share what you know to be truth.
Take care!
