Original Translation or Lost in Translation - Original Greek, Aramaic/Syriac, al-Arabi

To be sure, when contemplating this exercise in determining just exactly what was being said here, as has been demonstrated by DNM before, the real analysis is required to be understood from the perspective that much, if not most, of what is being written by the sages of Islam here, is not necessarily original. Yet in the zeal to make some establishment of constancy, the original meaning of that being converted to Islamic perceptions is lost in translation.
In that the letter of first Peter is a warning of spiritual defense against the powers and principalities of the darkened spiritual realm, it is intriguing that the warning here is repeated towards replacement theology, of which Islam may be inferred to here as a matter of which theology the reader needs to be wary of, that of the Apostle of the Messiah, or its attempted replacement.

كُونُوا مُنضَبِطِي النَّفْسِ مُتَعَقِّلِينَ مُتَيَقِّظِينَ. لِأنَّ عَدُوَّكُمُ الشَّيْطَانَ يَتَجَوَّلُ مِثْلَ أسَدٍ يَزأرُ بَاحِثًا عَمَّنْ يَلْتَهِمُهُ

Since the original is indicated by some as being done in the Greek in the first century (before the destruction of the Temple in 71 CE), the translation is one that had to be very carefully rendered in the successive languages of the time before the scholars of Islam took their shot at it. One wonders, in their attempt to 'update' it, what did they really want it to say?
