Dear Dr Pipes, this is to thank DNM for introducing me to Henri Lammens' work. The title of his message, "Quran is text with no context" is marvellous. Every time I have tried to read the quran, I have found it devoid of a proper narrative or context. How can anyone quote quran out of context when it has no serious context? But that is how the apologists defend it.
If any Muslims are reading this message, they should post a serious rebuttal of this argument. Standard phrases like 'Islam is the best religion in the world' or 'Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world' that grandmothers tell grandchildren will not cut it.
