We, moderate muslims, would certainly share the message of Allah from the Holy Quran to non-muslims. We indeed show them that Allah indeed is the Most Merciful and Allah is willing to see non-muslims to repent and to be saved from the Last Judgment Day. We indeed show them to consider carefully about their future since any wrong choice to remain as non-muslims would be indeed to be condemned during the Last Judgment Day. When showing the verses as quoted by you to them, we certainly tell them that the word, fight, in the Holy Quran is not what non-muslims to be physical violence, vandalism and/or etc., instead, it should be the spiritual battle towards non-muslims so that we, moderate muslims, would count it as spiritual victory when we convince a non-muslim to repent to turn to Allah. This kind of victory is encourageable since we want to see more are more non-muslims to escape from the disaster that would come about during the Last Judgment Day. Nobody would want their lives to be condemned during the Last Judgment Day.
What if a non-muslim could become a rich business in this world and dies without repenting to become muslims, all his achievements on this earth certainly pour down into the drain since he will be condemned during the Last Judgment Day before Allah and that we cannot deny it to be the fact. Not only that, we, moderate muslims, show good morality to non-muslims so that they might turn to become muslims by our good examples.
Messy killings of non-muslims might cause non-muslims to have the hatred upon muslim people and that could have adversed effect to their willingness to submit to Allah. For instance, if you are non-muslim, a muslim extremist kills your wife and wants you to become muslim. Would you want to become muslim if you have full hatred with muslim people since they start their holy war to kill your wife? Certainly! You would not become muslim and instead, you would fill with hatred against muslims since you would be against muslims as a result of your wife being slaughtered by them.
