Since you have the Cambridge History quote the page number where it says the Meccans were the first to attack the Muslims.
I do no have a copy of the book you refer to. But I picked out a sentence you had posted from it and showed you that the Cambridge History also states that Muhammad went to loot a Meccan caravan without provocation. I also showed you from Muslim historians that Muhammad faced some minor problems only when he started abusing the Meccan mode of worship. You claim that Muslims were fighting back is just "taqia" on your part.
