Absolutely right, Jeff. I also said I agreed with Prashant's third possibility. Besides, I brought up the "context" (why and how Muhammad was given the revelations) in which this religion was born that makes its authenticity very doubtful. Also, the several problems that the Qur'an per se entails. As discussed, thanks to Dhimmi No More, very concerning structural and semantic issues make this religion fall apart by itself.
And today, you add another problem that we have also mentioned in different threads: the warlike nature of Islam. This threatening nature is precisely what makes this religion so weak from my point of view, Jeff. Religions are supposed to bring out the best of human beings who will be able to grow compassion, love and understanding through flexible thinking. A religion should prepare humanity to adjust to different times because evolution brings new problems that may need to be addressed in different ways since what worked yesterday may not work today. Where is the spirituality of this religion that, to begin with, forces believers into soldiers of this God? Yes, because we shouldn't forget that jihad is a command that all believers must comply with it in one or another way. Add that men are given all the power while women are born to be mere objects in charge of satisfying only their men's needs, the household duties and the children's raising and increasing their religious knowledge. Sometimes, these men's needs are satisfied with many women, and it is permissible. Where is the compassion in here and the proper ethical upbringing of human beings? I know that I insist too much on this problem, but for me, it's crucial for understanding the true nature of Islam and why our mindsets will never reconcile.
All in all, this is the only religion that does not promote what makes a civilisation healthily grow. Until the day all Muslims are aware of this, our world will be endangered. And they will refute this as much as they want, but the core of Islam has nothing but hatred remarks towards what is different. This fact goes against any ethics.
Thank you, Jeff, for posting this. Your comment is very thoughtful, and what you say about religions and languages is completely right.
