Now let us check Tafsir ibn Abbas, Muhammad's cousin:
This is Ibn 'Abbas' tafsir of Q79:30:
"(After that he spread the earth) even then he spread on the water, it is even said 2000 years after that He spread on the water."
Oh, and no mention of an egg or an ostrich
Now, let us check Muqatil and this is an early tafsir and it is also ascription and here Muqatil wrote that دحاها or Dahaaha means بسط ومد and here is the meaning of the word بسط or Basata in English: FLATTEN SOMETHING
Check this:

And here is the meaning of the word Mada or مد in English: Making something longer

Notice that I'm using Modern Arabic dictionary. However, the meaning of both words is very stable and same as we will find in Lisan al-'Arab dictionary
And here is a link to Tafsir Muqatil in Arabic and this is a very early tafsir
https://www.altafsir.com/Tafasir.asp?tMadhNo=2&tTafsirNo=96&tSoraNo=79&tAyahNo=30&tDisplay=yes&UserProfile=0&LanguageId=1
More? Here is a link to the very revered Tafsir al-Jalalayn and they tell us that Hahaaha means: بسط ومد or Basata wa mada! Same as Muqatil
So, the word Dahaaha (according to what the Islamic tradition called امهات التفاسير or the "Mothers of the Tafsirs") means: بسط ومد or Flatten and make it longer.
Oh and nothing about an egg or an ostrich
Stay tuned for part 2 and 3
