You've hit several nails on the head there. The point that vested interests, jobs, hopes, expectations, offices depend upon that lie is so obvious ithat we forget to see it. There's a huge amount of ego and Saudi and other money behind the spread of the contagion. Couple that with a fear-driven motivation to proseltyze their beliefs due to the fear of missing out on a sensuous, Arabian flavoured afterlife and we have the current disasterous situation. The last point reminds me of the line that so many people who want an eternal afterlife don't even know what to do with themselves on Sunday afternoons.
