Thank you, Prashant, for resuming this sura for the readers to check out! Yes, it is, of course, a clear invitation to exert domestic violence, carte blanche to all types of abuse as well as a praise to male's selfishness. "Men! Divorce your women if not obedient to you because I will replace them with better wives!". I love how things work in this book by favouring lusty needs! Then one wonders why Muslim men cannot value women and why they treat them like objects. Indeed, we are too innocent. And too kind.
Not only can we clearly see this concept promoted in Surat An-Nisa, but also in many others of this book! I will always repeat this: if you read the Qur'an, even with the bogus and handy translations that any can find on the Internet, you cannot agree with these very basic and ingrained concepts that are not only encouraged but commanded. Concepts that are dangerous, toxic and shameful for our society.
