Prashant,
I also liked Dhimmi No More's post.
I couldn't agree with you both more. I have already brought up this topic here as well. Islam kills arts, and arts is what makes us human. Arts, in all forms and shapes, comes from creativity, which is the soul of civilisations. It's the legacy of our existence, the proofs of our experiences, thoughts and feelings. I can't imagine a world without music, poetry, painting. Music... My sweet dear music. I can't imagine how to live without music. The only music they are allowed to listen to is the quranic recitation. How sad that is.
Definitely, I don't want to see a world where arts are not allowed. It entails our freedom, our imagination, our inner world. What else can I say? How many genii born in Islamic countries this world will have miss out on already?
It was delightful for me to see that there are still people very bold and brave who still maintain their traditions and don't allow anyone to shut their voices. So much beauty can't be destroyed for the sake of expanding a religion that restricts all that makes us human.
DNM: I will reply to your last post in regards to the Meccan verses in chapters revealed in Medina and the other way around. Yes! Only Allahu 'Alam! Lol
