Recommending Taleb's Interview

Dear Dr Pipes, This message is to recommend Nicolus Taleb's interview in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezhjumayRsg). This video was most recently recommended by your reader DNM in the context of Islamization of Egypt. In particular, the readers should listen the video between 25 and 25 minutes marks. I wrote my above message (Another con of marrying into Islam) before I listened to Taleb's interview but it was heartening for me to see that Taleb also mentioned all points that I covered in my message. Taleb mentions that Islam is a one way street from which there is no exit. Taleb also mentions that Islam propagates using small effects line one non-Muslim choosing to marry a Muslim. Taleb also said that Islam is not just a religion. It was a legal system (I say that Islam is also a political party).

When a person of Taleb's prominence speaks about Islam in critical but polite ways, it is a shot in the arm of every person who wants to counter Islamic hegemony intellectually. I feel very empowered. I also think that today's social media is the biggest enemy that Islam has ever met. Forteen centuries ago the inventers of Islam were able to package extremely selfish ideas as a religion that was to be frozen in time for all time to come and there was no one to question them. Today, it is very difficult to run away with selfish laws and packaged lies.

People should listen to taleb's interview. They will be benefitted.
