Here is a reference about Surat al-Mudathir (Mutadathir) being a Medinan verse
قَالَ أبو الفَرَجِ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ابْنُ الجَوْزِيِّ (ت: 597هـ): (وقال مقاتل: (فيها من المدني آية وهي قوله تعالى: {وما جعلنا عدتهم إلا فتنة} [المدثر: 31])). [زاد المسير: 8/398]
This can be rendered as: Abu al-Faraj said from Ali Ibn al-Jawzi (597 Hijra) and Muqatl said: In it (Surat al-Mudathir) from Medina one verse and it is Allah's saying: Wa ma ja'alna 'idatuhum ila fitna (al-Mudathir 31)
Muqatil tells us that this verse (Surat al-Mudathir 31) is a Medina verse when the rest of the sura is Meccan.
